How we started

Zoom2u was founded in Sydney in 2014 by Steve Orenstein. The idea was simple: most parcels in Australia are moved by big national networks that batch jobs onto trucks, which works fine when delivery is "this week" but falls down when it's "before COB". A network of local drivers, dispatched through software, can do better on urgent jobs — and usually for less than a national carrier's express tier.

Same Day Express launched as the simplest possible way to access that network. Type two addresses, see a price, book a driver. No account required for one-off jobs. Tracking, SMS updates, signed proof — all standard.

How the network works

Every driver in our network is independently vetted: ID check, driver-history check, insurance verification, on-platform performance metrics. When you book, the closest available driver who can carry your load size is dispatched. They're paid for the job, not on a per-hour wage, which means they show up motivated to do it well.

We don't own a single van. We run software, dispatching, and customer support. The drivers are local, often running their own small businesses or driving alongside other work.

Where we operate

Every Australian capital plus the major regional centres. Strongest coverage in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth (where the driver network is densest). Adelaide, Canberra, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Hobart, Launceston, Darwin and Alice Springs are covered with smaller driver pools — same-day available, on-demand depends on the day.

The Zoom2u connection

Same Day Express and Zoom2u share the same parent company, the same driver network, and the same dispatching platform. The two brands serve slightly different customers: Same Day Express is designed for one-off bookings and individual users, Zoom2u is the brand we lead with for businesses that integrate the API into their order flow or use the white-label dashboard for high volume.

Either way, the driver who arrives at your pickup is the same driver — the platform is one.
